Publishing Mentorship Policies & Terms of Service

1. Nature of Services

Valiant Press provides publishing mentorship and author support services, including writing guidance, editing, formatting, cover coordination, and publishing assistance.

We are not a traditional publishing house and do not act as a literary agent.

All services are provided as mentorship and professional services, not guarantees of sales, rankings, or commercial success.

2. Author Rights & Ownership

  • The author retains 100% ownership and copyright of their work at all times.

  • Valiant Press does not claim ownership, royalties, or distribution rights.

  • The author publishes under their own name or imprint via Amazon KDP (or similar platforms)

3. Publishing Platform Disclaimer

Publishing is facilitated through Amazon KDP or other third-party platforms.

Valiant Press:

  • Does not control Amazon policies, approvals, delays, or account decisions.

  • Is not responsible for platform rejections, pricing changes, or content restrictions imposed by Amazon.

4. Scope of Editing

Editing services may include:

  • Developmental feedback

  • Clarity, structure, and flow improvements

  • Light copyediting

Does NOT include:

  • Legal review

  • Fact-checking

  • Plagiarism checks (unless explicitly stated)

  • Academic or medical compliance editing

The author is ultimately responsible for the accuracy and legality of all content.

5. Author Responsibilities

The author agrees to:

  • Submit original work they own or have rights to

  • Meet agreed-upon deadlines

  • Participate actively in live sessions

  • Review and approve all edits, layouts, and cover designs

  • Provide final approval before publication

Failure to engage may delay the project timeline.

6. No Guarantees

Valiant Press does not guarantee:

  • Book sales

  • Bestseller status

  • Income, exposure, or reviews

  • Media opportunities or speaking engagements

Results depend on the author’s effort, market conditions, and audience.

7. Payment Policy

  • All payments are non-refundable once services begin.

  • Payment plans must be completed regardless of project completion.

  • Missed payments may pause services until resolved.

8. Cancellation & Termination

Valiant Press reserves the right to terminate services if:

  • Communication becomes abusive or inappropriate

  • The author violates policies

  • Payment obligations are not met

If terminated, completed work will be delivered up to the point of termination.

9. Revisions Policy

  • Revisions are limited to the scope of the selected package.

  • Excessive revisions outside the agreement may require an additional fee.

  • Final approval by the author confirms satisfaction with deliverables.

10. Confidentiality

All manuscripts, personal information, and sessions are kept confidential.

Valiant Press may reference completed projects for portfolio or promotional purposes only with author consent.

11. Communication Policy

  • Communication occurs during business hours unless otherwise agreed.

  • Response times are typically within 24–48 business hours.

  • Mentorship sessions are conducted live (Zoom/phone) as scheduled.

12. Intellectual Property

All templates, frameworks, outlines, and mentorship materials provided by Valiant Press remain the intellectual property of Valiant Press and may not be resold or redistributed.

13. Limitation of Liability

Valiant Press is not liable for:

  • Loss of income

  • Platform account issues

  • Third-party service failures

  • Author decisions made outside mentorship guidance

14. Agreement Acknowledgment

By enrolling in the Publishing Mentorship, the author acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these policies and terms.
